Tracking Similar Items

If a similar item (sim-to item) is established in the item master record maintained from the item maintenance window, it's performance is indicated in the Sim-To row of the item plan window.

Sim-to data represents the actual sales activity of the similar item in the same format as the other item planning types. This serves to aid planners/forecasters by providing a common format for comparing trends of similar items. If two similar items are doing well or one is doing better than another, adjustments may be necessary and may be communicated to sales/marketing as a result.
