The first question most people ask us is why we charge for service manuals. It's a good question and we think we have a really good answer!

Venture is what we like to call an enterprise resource planning/virtual enterprise (ERP/VE) business engine. For us, a business engine provides a framework for processing data. The framework is highly extensible. This means that while we provide a clear methodology for data processing, it is easily changed and extended to do exactly what you want it to do. Our service manuals provide that knowledge -- something that would otherwise take hundreds of man hours of expense to disseminate.

There are three ways to accomplish installation, setup and customization. You can pay one of our VARs for everything from start to finish. You can buy the service manuals and do it yourself. Or you can find a happy medium where you, for example, purchase the installation and setup manuals and coordinate with a VAR to do the finish work and customization.

For those with strong IT departments, a DIY approach is a wonderful thing. And when you consider what you get for the money, Venture is a great deal even if you only use parts of it in a virtual enterprise scenario (e-commerce only, sales order processing only, digital assets, etc).
