About VENTURE
The open source ERP/VE business engine.
Venture is available free of charge in whole or part under license. Maintenance, customization and commercial service is available from KDSI.
System Summary
Venture is built on a client-server architecture. The Venture client uses the Mozilla Foundation’s XULrunner development environment. The Venture server is built on an Apache/PHP/PostgreSQL platform. Communication between the client and server takes place via SOAP calls on an HTTP/S transport layer.
The combination of open source technologies enhances rapid development and provides a commercially supported architecture that is easily customized.
Venture features a rich application programming interface (API), providing access to the core business system functionality from external applications. Developers wishing to extend the functionality of Venture have the option of using or extending existing API calls and creating API calls of their own.
As icing on the cake, Venture comes with a full e-commerce system. Or you can use an existing platform with Venture’s e-commerce API. And don’t forget Venture’s native support for eBay and Amazon transactions.
Our online User Manuals will clearly explain how to use Venture, and with our commercial services you’ll be able to customize Venture to perfectly fit your needs, wants and desires. In other words, the User Manuals show you what switch to throw, but we can show you how to replace that switch, or change that simple switch into a chrome-plated, skull-head gear shifter, if that’s what you’re into.
Our User Manuals and other Venture documentation are wiki-based so we can instantly update them with any modifications or updates to the Venture software:
